Wine

Torbreck The Gask is sourced from the rocky outcrops of Greg and Cynthia Knight's Shiraz plot nestled into the eastern slope of Mount McKenzie in the Eden Valley.

The Gask is named after the Gask Ridge, a series of Roman fortifications near Torbreck Forest in Scotland. Stone burial grounds lie on the hills above the forest, bearing eerie resemblance to outcrops that surround the Knights' vineyard.

The handpicked fruit is destemmed into cement vats for fermentation. After nine days the wine is drained, basket pressed and racked to seasoned French barriques to complete malolactic fermentation.

The wine retains the tighter structure that wines from the Eden Valley are famous for. After 18 months of ageing, the wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

Inky garnet, Torbreck The Gask has concentrated blueberry flavours with firm tannins, mineral notes and balanced acidity. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
